Occupations!

We had so much fun talking about community helpers, and different occupations!

Since so many of the children are interested in being a police officer, we were lucky enough to have a local police officer come to our class to talk about his job...

The children LOVED it, and they even got a pencil, coloring book to take home, and a sheriff sticker badge!
Thanks, Officer Douglas!

We read a lot of stories about different jobs, including this silly one the children loved...
This book was about ambulances, and these boys loved looking at it!

I asked all of the children what they want to be when they grow up.

We had some mommies, daddies, (I love when they say those), police officers, teachers, firefighters, a "cooker" :), and even a cowgirl and princess.  It's always so fun for me to ask them what they want to be.

And, just because I had to share, here are some pictures of when we played "firefighters" and saved our castle from a fire!  The children were so engaged in dramatic play -- we had some calling for more "help," some saving babies from the fire, and lots of pretend water hose play!  So fun.
Next time, I'll have to get some red firefighter hats!
